Past Master Brother James Stirrat Adams

Tributes have been paid from within and out with the Province to Past Master Brother James Stirrat Adams who died suddenly at home on Friday 26th April, aged 58 years.

Bro. Jim was a Past Master and stalwart of Lodge Greenock Kilwinning No. XII, and had recently been Installed as an Office-Bearer in the Provincial Grand Lodge of Renfrewshire West.

Over the years, Jim contributed greatly to the Inverclyde community; not only as a Freemason, but as an elder of The Church of Scotland, officer in The Boy’s Brigade and Junior Football Player.

Jim was a popular member and elder in The Mount Kirk, and was always willing to do his best to assist in any task asked of him.

As well as a keen golfer, in his early days Jim was an officer in the 6th Company of the Boys Brigade, and was a much sought after goalkeeper in many junior football teams in the district including: Greenock Morton Supporter’s, Bellaire and High School F.P.

Jim was also a devoted husband and father and leaves behind his wife Rona, daughter Jennifer and son Craig, along with a great many friends as well as his work colleagues in Ferguson’s Shipyard.
