More From the old minute books of No XII

We have been busy organising presentations to beneficiaries of our Charity Drive.  This vitally important aspect of the work of No XII isn’t a recent phenomenon as the minute book extracts from 1910 and 1911 (below) clearly demonstrate…

Donations to local Charities

It was proposed to give the sum of 12 Guineas to local charities, to be allocated as follows:-

Greenock Hospital and Infirmary                                                       £3-3/-
District Nursing Association                                                               £2-2/-
Children’s Convalescent Home                                                          £2-2/-
Eye and Ear Infirmary                                                                                    £2-2/-
Provost McMillan’s Breakfast Fund                                                   £2-2/-
Medical Aid Society                                                                           1-1/-
Donation of £50 to Building Fund of Freemasons’ Hall, Edinburgh

With reference to the application of Grand Lodge for a donation to the Building Fund of the New Freemasons’ Hall, it was agreed to contribute the sum of £50.

In present day sums, the £12-12/- would be around £1222.00 and the £50 around £4453.00.  in this sense our present day and 1910 commitments are similar in No XII.
